Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty and another coined term for this could be Rhinoplasty Using Fillers

One of the new coined terms is “non-surgical rhinoplasty”. This is basically using fillers such as Radiesse, which is a Calcium Hydroxylapatite, or one of the Hyaluronic Acids such as Juvederm, Restylane, or Perlane. Many physicians that perform revision rhinoplasty procedures have already seen a number of complications with this practice. I have had patients come in with damaged tissue or infections because the injectables have infiltrated into areas where the blood supply of the tissue is not great. In this situation, the injectable may damage the soft tissue and cause permanent damage. Rarely, it can cause permanent irregularities which may be difficult to remove in surgery.

The only time that I have used a filler post-operatively has been in the situation where there is a slight depression in the area of the nose. In this case, a filler will help augment the depression and I always consider that to be temporary. If the depression continues and no scar tissue builds up, eventually, I will usually proceed with surgery. In general, non-surgical rhinoplasty is not a procedure that I recommend. The three-dimensional structure and healing of the nose along with the shrink wrappage of the skin can cause many problems. Anything that is an “easy fix” like this can possibly cause complications to the nose.

Rodeo Drive – Breathe Easy Rhinoplasty:
A patient recently asked me about a breath easy rhinoplasty procedure. They had read about this online and unfortunately, I could not tell them what a breath easy rhinoplasty procedure was. There are many terms that are coined for any type of surgery, such as the Smart Rhinoplasty term I use. One of the most important aspects of any type of a coined terms is really who the physician is that is backing up the procedure. When I read Breathe Easy Rhinoplasty or even Smart Rhinoplasty, the most important thing that comes to my mind is a nose that looks great, but also is functionally intact so the patient can breathe properly. This especially takes into account many years down the line, when the nose starts to collapse. You want to make sure that the physician you are going to is a Board Certified facial plastic or plastic surgeon and has performed many rhinoplasties. You also want to look at the before and after photos to make sure that you like the photos. I have many patients that will like my before and after photos and I also have some that don’t. It depends, once again, on the style that the doctor likes to perform.

While I am not sure what Breathe Easy rhinoplasty is, I just would recommend that you do your research to find out about the surgeon and what type of rhinoplasty this is.
